he was having a pleasant dream. something about a girl and love. yup, one of those sappy love dreams. just as it got good a beeping started going off in his head, no that wasn't right. groaning it flung his hand out from under his pillow and let it hit the alarm clock on his side table. when the beeping finally stopped he turned over to lay on his back. he could probably sleep all day if he was allowed but when his life was controlled by his parents, there was no sleeping in at all. not even on vacation cause aparently there's always something to do.
rubbing his blue eyes roughly he finally sat up. the sun was shining way to brightly and the sound of canines at his door was starting to annoy him. for years and years his family bred and owned shepherds, so those were the canines who whined at his door. throwing the covers off his body he stood up and stretched out. walking sluggishly to the door he opened it and flying in the room were four of the family dogs. smiling gently he patted each dog on the head and shut his door. all the dogs took their spots in his room, two laying on the bed and two on the floor.
shaking his head he headed into his bathroom and ran his fingers threw his already messed up hair. a job would be nice right now. opening the door to his walk in closet he pulled out a pair of jogging pants and a hoodie. pulling on some socks and then sneakers he finally took a second to think. today it was gonna be another cold day, he could hear that from the tv down the hall. his father would see him walk by and ask where he was going on then a simple short reply would get him out of the house. his mother was probably at some meeting of some sort.
' pye. toko. come.' pye and toko were two of the youngest dogs in the house, only nine months old. pye was a completely black german shepherd female and toko was pye's black and tan brother. both dogs came pounding into the hall and sat on command. clipping the leashes on their leather collars he opened the front door. making sure the door was shut tightly he let the cold hit him. he shivered for a second before moving quickly down the walk with the dogs.
he had set his eyes on the park, jogging with both canines at his side. he had his ipod going so he wasnt paying much attention. he had been jogging for about a half hour when pye darted off, ripping her leash from nolan's hand.
'crap ' he mumbled softly to himself. his mother would flip out if anything happened to the canine. he took off after her, his other hand gripped toko's leash tightly as they both ran after the fast black mass.

The morning was shaping up to be just another routine morning for Olivia as she walked into the kitchen. A familiar scene of her mother and father bickering over what either should cook for dinner and her older brother sitting at the kitchen table, watching some pointless MTV show shoveling cereal into his mouth. Sometimes Olivia thought she must have been an alien from another plant, or one of those babies that had gotten switched at birth. Either way was fine for her, seeing as she thought her family was crazy. Both dear old mother and father were workaholics, managing their own business, and her brother was one of those brooding, athletic jocks. Jogging, aside from reading and writing music, had become Olivia’s past time. Almost every morning it was get up from a long hibernation the human race called sleep, get dressed in her familiar jogging outfit, and then go into the kitchen to fuel up with water and such, although the latter was rarely done in wintertime.
“Mom, Dad, I’m going for a jog,” Olivia called as she closed the door to mayhem behind her. Neither of them heard, or probably cared, where their youngest and only daughter was off to. For all they cared she could be going to the street corner to offer her services. Olivia began jogging at a slow pace almost immediately as soon as she had cleared the four or five porch stairs. Outside, the morning was beautiful. The sun was bright and shining high over Camden. Hardly anyone or anything was out, except for a few birds and other small woodland animals. Olivia breathed in the fresh air, and slowly exhaled. She began running towards the best jogging place in all of Camden-Abshire Park.
Olivia’s mind began to wander and daydream as she jogged through the familiar scene. The tall pines and birch trees towered over her and the sun beckoned through the barren branches that jutted out awkwardly in some places. This was the place she was most comfortable. Not at home, not in her room, not at school. Here-Abshire Park, in the morning. However her perfect little jog was soon interrupted when a stray dog (although a leash was clipped to its collar) reached Olivia’s feet. Rather frightened at first, Olivia shouted at the dog the first thing that came to her mind, ”Sit!” She wagged a gloved finger at the dog. ”Stay.” She watched as a young male, probably late teens/early twenties, came bounding into sight. Olivia saw the leash and fetched it with a pale hand. ”Good dog,” she smiled affectionately at the animal as the boy had finally reached her.

nolan was pretty tired from the night before. his parents had invited a bunch of people over for a little party. they just loved to throw random parties out of no where. but he didn't mind because he could sneak a bunch of alcohol into his drinks without anyone knowing. there had been no one he had wanted to talk to there so he just sat in the kitchen talking to the cook and watching the small flat screen tv that was in there. everytime his dad or mom came into the room he would look like he was busy, grabbing something to eat or helping throw away some trash. but of course his mother complained to his father and he was out mingling again until he excused himself at eleven and headed upstairs to watch a movie and head to sleep.
so to start off the day with a dog running loose and almost knocking a girl down he just wanted to wake himself up from this bad dream. but of course he couldnt dream anything up. he watched as pye listened to her and was kinda shocked. pye usually doesn't listen to anyone so thats just a mircle. finally he caught up to pye as she sat there at the foot of the girl he didn't know. ' thanks alot! ' he said with a large smile as he bent down to grab the leather leash into his hand. he gave it a sharp tug and had pye at his side in a split second. pye knew she had done wrong and didn't want to look up at nolan who could care less.
' i mean it. she's usually doesn't run off unless there's really something she wants. '[/color he said in a kind tone as he gave pye a small pat on the head. the shepherd quickly perked up and started yipping with excitement. ' pye quiet. ' his tone was now firm and pye was quick to lay down and shut up. sometimes the dogs are left at home when he jobs but they need their exercise too. ' by the way, my names nolan. nolan brinks. ' he was brought up to be a gentleman, his parents raised him right but just ignored him after he turned like ten.

As Olivia commanded the dog to sit, she patted its head affectionately. Dogs were her favorite animals, probably because they actually seemed to pay attention to her. "Thanks a lot!" Olivia smiled at the young male. "No problem, really," she assured him. She shoved her hands into her pockets, already glad that she had remembered to bring a pair of gloves. "I mean it. She's usually doesn't run off unless there's really something she wants." A loud and rather hearty laugh escaped her lips. "I guess she saw something she wanted, only I was in the way," Olivia grinned. "By the way, my name's Nolan. Nolan Brinks." Olivia curtsied in front of the male rather mockingly. "Pleasure to meet you, Nolan," she said. "I'm Olivia....Billings."
Olivia reached her hand down once again to pat the dog on the head. A smile had spread across her face as she looked back to Nolan. "So, what're you doing out so early? I didn't think anyone else would be as crazy as me to be out at this time of day," she added, digging a toe into the ground.
